Written and illustrated by Kore Yamazaki, the Japanese manga series The Ancient Magus' Bride (魔法使いの嫁) is serialized on Bushiroad Works' Comic Growl website and licensed for North American publication by Seven Seas Entertainment. The fantasy epic has inspired an extensive multimedia franchise, beginning with a three-part prequel OAD by Wit Studio bundled with the manga from September 2016 to September 2017, followed by their television anime adaptation from October 2017 to March 2018. The adaptation later transitioned to Studio Kafka, which produced a second three-part OAD series from September 2021 to September 2022 alongside a two-part second season that broadcasted from April to July 2023 and October to December 2023.
